  1. Why is this man smiling? 😉

    • Yeah, I saw him do it and I didn’t see any smiles 😉

      • …i heard it was because he’s sooo happy not to have dropped it on himself 😉 (which might have happened on the first rep)

  2. Bench press (76#)=33
    Pull ups=24
    Total=57

  3. Used 132# for bench
    13/20, 11/17, 9/16, 7/14, 7/13
    Bench: 47
    Pull-ups: 80
    Total: 127

Up from 103 on 6/5/2009 (with same weight)
Almost all of improvement was on pull-ups

  4. First time doing this workout.

    BP: 110#
    Pullups, blue+tiny.

    7/14
    6/14
    5/13
    5/13
    4/20

    Bench total: 27
    Pullup total: 74
    Total: 101

It’s time for me to use less band for pullups, but I didn’t want to start it on this workout. I’ve been using less in warmup and will start doing workouts with less band….just not today. 😉

    • Pat – do you know how to post a “PR” on the “beyond the whiteboard”?

      • It does it automatically when you PR if you have posted that exact same workout previously to BTW.

        • Thanks!

  5. 92 lb bench

    8/11
    4/8
    6/10
    6/7
    4/8

    total:72

  6. Still not up for any pressing so I did “Nicole” instead…
    20 min AMRAP

    400 m run
    max rep pullups

    97 pullups plus ~100m run

  7. 110# bench first 2 rounds, 100# bench last 3 rounds. On the third round at 110 the bar just dropped to my chest. It was weird.

    6@110/20
    6@110/16
    9@100/17
    7@100/15
    6@100/16

Total 118. I know I’ve done this before but I didn’t post it on the blog – need to go back and look up my score.

Thanks for being my partner, Pat!

  8. Today’s WOD was another frustrating one, but it was pretty cool.

    21-15-09
    Box Hops (24″)
    Pull Ups

    7:06

    *Rest 5 Mins*

    7 Rounds:
    4 Rep Snatch Complex (66#)

    4:25

Some of the movements to the complex are new to me, or have not been executed in over a 2 years. Glad Laura got me to do it!

    • …what’s a “snatch complex”? (just realized I might not be mature enough to type this)

      • Well, I can tell you and show you when you come in. The specific details of L’s training program are under wraps until she takes the prize in July 😉

        • cool! & hey, check out the crossfit kids wod from yesterday or the day before…it has similar boxjump/pullup fun but no complex anything 🙂

  9. *ATTENTION ALL “SNIPERS”*

We know how exciting it is to perform well enough on a Bench Mark WOD to make it on to the Leader Board. The purpose of the board is to motivate you all and also to encourage a healthy competitive environment. That being said, I know I have discussed this with some of you, but if and when any of you wishes to go for one of the top spots on any of the Bench Mark WODs, please come in during a time that Laura, or myself are present to coach you, count you and validate the time and reps.

I’m personally delighted that we have so many athletes that are now performing WODs “As Rx”. Keep up the hard work; just be sure that you get a pair of eyes on you to confirm every lift, rep and time 🙂

    • Sorry, I had no idea I would do that well, you can take it off if you want.

      • I only picked it because it had max rep pullups like Lynne….I really don’t care if my name is on the board, I know what I did 😉

      • We want it up there, and then hopefully someone will beat it…then it’s beaten again, and again. That’s the goal, we just want every WOD that goes up to be 100% official. So, we need to be here, or it has to be on tape. No sweat, there will be another day 🙂

  10. 60lb bench press; pull ups w/old red + tiny
    13/6, 11/7, 11/5, 7/4, 8/5
    Bench = 50
    Pull ups = 27
    Total reps = 77

  11. My first Rx Lynne- total score 99 (July score was 121 on 154lbs). However appealing, I do not weight 154lbs.

First WOD in 3 weeks too.

    176lbs
    1. 5/28 – I could have eeked out more pullups, I think
    2. 4/22
    3. 4/18
    4. 3/14
    5. 2/9 – not working out in a while caught up with me by round 5

  12. I was looking forward to Lynne because I did well last time. Not today. (Can’t remember my weight: 60 or 65. Blue band like last time.) 7/10, 4/10, 4/10, 5/8, 5/6 = 25/44 = 69

That’s 35 points LESS than last time.

    • To cheer myself up, here’s a list of stuff I can do now that I couldn’t when I joined CFRX in October 2008:

*Double unders (I had never jumped rope before and got winded after a few singles).
*Ring dips with tiny band (I started with the biggest band on stationary bars).
*Plank push ups (I couldn’t even do knee pushups).
*Air squats (I had to hold on to the pull up frame to keep from falling over).
      *Run a 5k or an 800m or a 400m.
      *Back extensions.
      *GHD sit ups.
*Any kind of pull up (I’m now on a blue band).
      *Any lifting of free weights.
*More stuff I can’t think of.

      There. I feel better.

      • You should feel awesome..that is a substantial list Terri!

      • Also, you have the best posts of *anyone*!

        • 😀 I love all my Crossfit friends!

      • Ditto what Amarinthia and Joy said.

        • Yep. VERY impressive.

      • Terri used to complain about the weight of a bag of dog food. She doesn’t do that anymore.

        • Yay Terri!

      • Go Terri go!

  13. Somehow I have no documentation of doing this wod…which is weird b/c I definitely have physical memories of suffering through this workout. It’s not even recorded in my old notebook. Oh well.

66# bench (super impressed with all the strong women doing 80 and up)
10/20 (forgot chalk, could have probably done more pull-ups)
    10/31
    14/22
    8/16
    6/13
    Total= 150

Didn’t really get the idea that I should be pushing till failure until Damon kindly yelled at me to keep going. haha. So round 3, 4, and 5, were all to failure.

    • That’s funny… I had the same experience. I swear I did it Rx before, but couldn’t find it recorded anywhere. Maybe there was a phantom/dream workout we all participated in:)

  14. Kinda funny story about paleo diet and a brief mention of crossfit.

    • Eating raw meat. Regular 36-hour fasts. Exercising while starving. Giving blood as part of your fitness program. The reporter picked the craziest people to include in this article!

  15. I’ve not done much bench pressing so it was fun to see what I could do…

    81# BP: 8/15, 7/15, 5/16, 5/15, 5/16

I am having trouble getting into a rhythm on my pull-ups. I feel like I could do more if I wasn’t wasting so much energy hanging and restarting every few pull-ups. One of many things to work on 🙂

  16. 16/10
    12/10
    11/8
    10/7
    8/8

    Total=100

    48 lb bench press.
